How I won (or attracted) a camcorder!

Here’s a little story for all you Law of Attraction junkies out there… (If you are just into pole dancing and have no idea what I am talking about, keep reading and play along!)

So I have started my new up-and-coming website and blog with my mission being to help women (and people) learn to love themselves through pole dancing.  Pole dancing changed the way I interact with the world, so I want to share that same kind of empowerment with those who are open to it.  Big dream, I know.  But I’m daring something worthy and it makes my heart sing, so I have no choice but to go for it.  But big dreams need big tools!

After much research, I decided that I want Flip Ultra HD camcorder to share myself and the art of pole dancing with the world (haha – who could argue with that?!?!).  I was dragging my feet buying one, worried about the cost.  When I finally had surrendered to the idea that it was a good investment and that I just had to suck it up and buy one, I won one in a random drawing!  All I had to do was download a video with RealPlayer and send out a tweet about it on Twitter.  How cool is that?!?

Now, I knew what the prize was when I was entering but that’s not the point.  I enter quite a few contests… some for trips, some for gift cards, and who knows what else.  The point is that I listened to my internal nudge and entered this one too.  I won the one the prize that I had been focusing on (the camcorder) and the one I really cared about.  Seems like crazy great attraction to me!

And a similar thing happened to me a few weeks ago.  I had been wanting a particular Victoria’s Secret bra and was bellyaching about putting out the money for it.  I finally decided that I was tired of living in fear about money and that I was just going to go ahead and buy the darn thing.  Within a couple hours of that decision, my phone rang.  It was my aunt on the phone who was working there.  She had just won a contest and guess what she won… a free bra (one of the few styles I wear) AND a pair of panties!  Of course, she was calling to tell me that she was generously giving these to me since she wouldn’t wear them.  Woo hoo!

The one important thing I wanted to point out about both these situations:

The things I wanted couldn’t come to me until I stopped feeling desperate.

When I was living in fear and frustration, I was pushing these wonderful things away from me.  Within hours or days of “taking the edge off”,  I easily attracted some pretty cool stuff.  Once I stopped fighting, I started flowing.

  • How can you use this principle in your pole dancing or in your life in general?  Is there something you have been struggling with or are desperate about?

Maybe it’s a new trick or learning inverts.  Maybe it’s having smooth transitions.  I invite you to “take the edge off”, cut yourself some slack, and stop fighting it.  Once you make peace with the fact that you don’t desperately need it, maybe something will shift for you.

Play with it.  Try it as an experiment.  I’d love to hear about your experiences… just leave a comment below.

Happy attracting!
